The Second Ahlul Bayt Essay Contest

Essay Contest Topic

In 1500 to 2500 words, discuss the following topic:

Analyze and explain the characteristic behaviors of either Hazrate Fatemeh^(sa), or Imam Reza^(as) and how we can implement their model in the resolution of today's major issues.

In writing your essay, use the following as your guideline:

•     Select specific issues that are of importance to you and explain why you have chosen them.

•     Describe and analyze the role of the member of the Ahlul Bayt that you have chosen in application to resolving these particular issues & discuss the immediate consequences.

•     Keep in mind that some of the current interests include: human rights, freedom, security, love for one another, democracy, countering terrorism.

The following format must be used for the paper:

1- Introduction          2- Discussion & Results           3- Conclusions          4- References

The deadline for the Ahlul Bayt Essay Contest is January 7, 2008.

A panel of judges will evaluate the essays and the winners will be announced in February.  The decision of the judges is final.

Essay Winners Will Receive:

1st place winner:     $3,600   ($300 for 12 months)

2nd place winner:   $1,800   ($300 for 6 months)

3rd place winner:    $900    ($300 for 3 months)
